Whatever it is you’re going through, know that you have the ability to heal, change, grow and learn. It IS possible. You are capable of this. I know this 1. because you’re alive and 2. because you’re here looking for help and answers. Only someone who has hope and wholeness somewhere inside of them does that.
I’m Elizabeth and I’m really good at helping women do their personal growth work. It’s time to do some deep work to figure out how you got where you are. I’ll help you see things you might have missed and give you the tools you need to not only do the work on your own, but to continue building a life that’s reflects who you really are.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Southlake, Texas (Dallas/Fort Worth) area and I help women overcome past difficulties in their lives. I will work with you to grow from those experiences, to gain insight from them and to move forward to live the life you want. I specialize in helping women express, explore and heal what is holding them back from living fully.
The thing is, being unhappy for long periods of time is not a normal state of being. Unhappiness can manifest in many ways and it has a way of making itself known whether we like it or not. Here are some of it’s favorite disguises:
Anxiety, feeling down, feeling numb, fatigue, overeating/undereating/obsession with exercise/food or weight, resentments,drinking/extra glasses of wine, over-shopping, procrastinating, being fake, codependency, thinking you know what’s best for others, blind ambition, constant chaos, staying busy, apathy, sleeping to much or insomnia, overdoing, enabling, pleasing behaviors, checking out, staying in miserable situations, constant sarcasm, perfectionism, playing games, low-self-esteem, irritability, guilt ridden, full of shame, never feeling enough, controlling behaviors, physical and/or emotional affairs, complaining – but not changing, negative thinking, overdoing Facebook/Reddit/social media, always rushing or being habitually late, acting against your integrity, being shamed, being yelled at, being verbally abused, being emotionally abused, beating up on yourself, constant drama, spending too much time in front of the television or online, physical symptoms, money issues, and/or strained relationships, fighting, fleeing or freezing, and always having lots of excuses for not getting what you want……just to name a few.
Then you get the consequences and crazy making from all this chaos which continues the cycle of misery and keeps you disconnected from the world, feeling hopeless, discouraged and disgusted with yourself.
You deserve more. That’s no way to live.
Am I the right counselor and coach for you?
I am a counselor and coach in the Southlake (Dallas/Fort Worth) area who specializes in helping women with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationships and other important life issues. I have had my private counseling practice for 9 years. Before that I worked with Hospice and Palliative Care in Charlotte, North Carolina counseling parents, children, siblings and spouses heal and make meaning after experiencing terrible losses in their lives. You can read more about my background in my online bio.
I see you as resilient with all of the internal resources needed for healing and wholeness. However, more often than not, painful life experiences such as emotional abuse, trauma and losses of loved ones cause blocks to those resources which leave you feeling lost, disconnected, hopeless and helpless. I can help you find your inner resources. I will provide a safe, healing, and compassionate environment that encourages insight and growth. I’ll teach you to free yourself of the thoughts and behaviors that no longer serve you as you add positive changes in your life.
I see counseling as a collaborative process and together you and I will come up with strategies and solutions. As your counselor, I’ll prepare you with the knowledge, tools and will help you uncover insights you need so you can still live your life and work beyond the pain and the discomfort…so you can have the rich and fulfilling life you deserve.
I’ll be there to guide you through the difficult parts. I’ll help you find your strength and your self-confidence and as you begin to reclaim yourself because you don’t become a different person through counseling – you become MORE YOU.
I look forward to hearing from you soon. Please don’t hesitate to call me if you have any questions.
