Expressive Counseling for Women

Whatever it is you’re going through, know that you have the ability to heal, change, grow and learn.  It IS possible.  I know it probably doesn't seem like it right now, but it's true.  Healing and becoming whole is your birthright. I specialize in helping women express, explore and heal what is holding them back from living fully and being whole.

I’m Elizabeth and I’m really good at helping women do their personal growth work.  If you're here, it’s probably time to do some deep work to figure out how you got where you are and the path out.  I’ll help you see things you might have missed and give you the tools you need to not only do the work on your own, but to continue building a life that reflects who you really are.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Southlake, Texas (Dallas/Fort Worth) area and I help women overcome past difficulties in their lives.  I will work with you to heal and grow from those experiences, to gain insight from them and to move forward to live the life you want.

Being unhappy for long periods of time is not a normal state of being.  Walking around not liking yourself or thinking you're stupid, not enough or less than is not a normal state of being.  Being checked out of life is not a normal state of being.

That’s no way to live.  You deserve more.

My Philosophy

I see you as resilient with all of the internal resources needed for healing and wholeness. However, more often than not, painful life experiences such as physical and/or emotional abuse, trauma and losses of loved ones cause blocks to those resources which leave you feeling lost, disconnected, hopeless and helpless. I can help you find your inner resources even when it feels like they're long gone.  I provide a safe, healing, and compassionate environment that encourages insight and growth.  I’ll teach you to free yourself of the thoughts and behaviors that no longer serve you as you add positive changes in your life.

I see counseling as a collaborative process and together you and I will come up with strategies and solutions.  As your counselor, I’ll prepare you with the knowledge, tools and will help you uncover insights you need so you can still live your life and work beyond the pain and the discomfort…so you can have the rich and fulfilling life you deserve.

I’ll be there to guide you through the difficult parts. I’ll help you find your strength and your self-confidence and as you begin to reclaim yourself because you don’t become a different person through counseling – you become MORE YOU.

Am I the Right Counselor for You?

I believe that the most important quality in counseling is the therapeutic relationship.  In other words, does your counselor "get you."  If what I've written resonates with you, give me a call.  I would love to talk.  I look forward to hearing from you soon.  Until then, take really good care of yourself.
